its rly no surprise that within the first few weeks of living in nyc i hop on the subway n go to a music festival on my own. last weekend i went to the meadows which is a kinda new fest in queens n it was pretty much my indie bitch peak. v diff than la festivals, less shitty people in the crowd, surprisingly more personal space, same amount of ugly dancing.

friday, september 15
sky ferreria - my goth kween. sky will forever be one of my favorite people to see live no matter how close to home her songs hit.
two door cinema club - my middle school wet dream. one of the best sets of the weekend. a never ending dance party.
blood orange - dev hynes is just so fucking talented
jay z - highkey lowkey not as good as i thought he would be, but of course singing empire state of mind in new york was 10x better
saturday, september 16
erykah badu - soul awakening v groovy super vegan
de la soul - somehow ended up here roaming around the festival n do not regret it. lots of ugly dancing.
future - sat in the back bc not a big fan but still v lit, sadly had to leave before the genius lyrics "mask on, fuck it, mask off"
tv on the radio - once again a v good band to see, no mosh pits thank god, got to scream n dance by myself
m.i.a - another kween that knows how to dance
gorillaz - BRO SOOOO FUCKINNN GOOOOD
sunday, september 17
foster the people - okay honestly, not a fan of their new stuff n will no longer claim ftp after torches. BUT their old songs were still a lot of fun and again a middle school throwback.
weezer - my favorite set. best setlist ever including a hey ya! cover. the happiest i ever been in a while. didnt stop smiling the entire time.
sleigh bells - lots of jumping
red hot chili peppers - a homage to california n since i was born n raised there it was must that i see them sometime in my life. great set, lots of guitar solos, made me miss la.
the meadows wasn't the best festival i ever went to, but it was still good n way better than what i expected. was a bit too musty, but weezer, two door cinema club, and sky ferriera were all worth it. see u next time mayb n thanks for making preteen me the happiest she could ever be.
xoxo
