trick or treat dancefloor

halloween really is / that / holiday.

its everyones favorite holiday n with good reason. i mean who can argue with dressing up and free candy. like c'mon its GLITTER n SOUR CANDY. u already got me with those two. plus its when u see characters of ur favorite movies, shows, games, etc come to life. i kno i kno some can b spooky. BUT THATS THE POINT.
last year on halloween i was sick n dying n didnt get to dress up. i am still upset about that, but of course i still waited for the last minute to come up with my costume. n i am So Happy with how it came out. i felt magical the whole night even though it was friday n not technically halloween.
i feel like the weekend always feel more like halloween then actual halloween. or mayb its because i live in the city now, so it never actually felt like halloween, just people thotting out n going to clubs n bars. disclaimer: i fully support.
but theres just something about halloween in the suburbs where you can go trick or treating and pass out candy n everything just feels so cozy n homey. or mayb its just that with feeling you get towards the holidays once u start growing up. i mean as much as i hate to admit it, i actually am an adult now that pays $20 for lotion and toothpaste at cvs. its a tough world out there.
anywaysssss i was a total DIY fairy with a sparkly wand and angel wings. i wore my pink slip dress that i bought in italy n probably only worn like one other time. i put glitter n butterfly stickers everywhere. my friend did my makeup. i wore sheer stockings n threw flowers inside n also put flowers in my hair. it was p messy but thats the POINT. i loved it n would wear it every night if i could.
but of course by the end of the night, my flowers, butterflies, n jewels all fell off. my wand n wings survived though. we went out dancing in brooklyn n the subway was filled with all sorts of different costumes. then saturday we saw beach fossils who i swore dressed up as the twilight vulturi. for that i dressed up as mathilda from leon: the professional but didnt take any pictures. i don't think people got it though because they kept asking me about the bunny i was carrying n trying to protect it from the pit. as for actual halloween, no crazy college parties to talk about. just mainly candy, cookies, $3 chipotle, n stranger things.

now heres to thanksgiving which never gets the full credit it deserves n the fall weather nyc is going to be getting that will for sure be the death of me

xoxo
